Compliments Are Free

Let's make the world a nicer place, one compliment at a time

How can compliments make a difference?

The world can often feel overwhelming: bad news, negativity, and the daily stresses of life can weigh us down. But in the midst of all this, there is something incredibly powerful, simple and free: a compliment.

Just a few thoughtful words can turn a difficult day into a brighter one, lifting spirits and reminding someone they are valued.

Whether given or received, compliments have the ability to spark joy, boost confidence, and create a ripple effect of kindness. After all, it costs nothing to spread a little positivity — but the impact can be priceless.

The benefits of giving compliments

Giving compliments fosters empathy and can improve mental health by increasing self-esteem and happiness. Seeing someone's face light up on receipt of a compliment can feel as great for you as it does for them.

The benefits of receiving compliments

Receiving a compliment boosts confidence and encourages a positive self-image, and can help reduce stress and anxiety. Let's face it, who doesn't like to hear something nice.

But how?

It's easy! It doesn't have to be some big thing, it could be something small or seemingly inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but it will still make a difference.

Basically if you think something positive, don't keep it to yourself!

And if you are lucky enough to receive a compliment, don't be embarassed or shy about it, own it and you'll both feel great!

Our impact

We've had a lowly ... visitors, but that hopefully means at least twice that many people have had a better day as a result of giving or receiving a compliment.

Even if only one person has received a compliment as a result of someone else reading this though, I'm taking that as a win!
